Meridian showed an entirely updated line of
"G-series" electronics that included the G08 upsampling/balanced CD player
($3995)...

...the non-upsampling/non-balanced G07
($2875)...

...and G01 control unit ($2595). Stereo and
multichannel amps, a receiver, and a DVD transport are also part of the new line. All new
models looked lovely in their silver-and-black chassis, and by their features alone they
appear to be very formidable products.

Falling into the "how can it cost that
little?" category is athena
Technologies' $549 Micra system, which includes four MS satellite speakers, an MC
center-channel speaker, and M 225 powered subwoofer.

Nordost debuted a trio of new power cords. From left to right are the
Valhalla ($2500), Vishnu ($600), and Shiva ($300). All show the unique geometries and
construction details for which Nordost is known.

TEAC's A-10 remote-controlled integrated
amplifier outputs 50Wpc into 8 ohms and 75Wpc into 4 ohms. It has tone controls, a
relay-switched input selector, and a headphone jack with its own output. But the most
impressive thing may be the A-10's price: $350. |
