The super-sculpted Calix F-8 Deluxe comes from
Taiwan. This four-way loudspeaker includes an 8" subwoofer in a cabinet that features
a wood baffle along with sides and rear made from a high-density compound. The price
6800 € per pair.
 
Mosquito of France has crafted the Neo 1.2
loudspeaker's cabinets from aluminum (baffle) and carbon fiber (everything else). The Neo
1.2's is also available in "any other color" and sells for 6800 € per
pair.
Barclay Digital's Gold F1 shines like a jewel
-- and has a price to match. The 29,000 € CD-only transport features Corian and
aluminum construction.
Despite the abundance of digital components in
Frankfurt, analog playback is alive and well. Germany's Transrotor showed the Fat Bob
upgradeable turntable system. Consumers can opt for the SLK for 1750 € (top
photo, left), the middle-of-the-road S for 2220 € (top photo, middle), or the
Reference 3700 € (top photo, right, and photo below). All systems include
