Soon to be reviewed on SoundStage!,
StudioLab's tall, thin Reference One ($1000/pair, premium finish extra) looked great in
deep blue livery.

Marten Design's Miles II speaker ($7200/pair)
made its North American debut in Montreal. As astute audiophiles can guess, it uses
ceramic drivers exclusively.

Resembling a small heatsink, the Eichmann
Topper ($75/set of six) is a resonance-control device meant to rest on top of any piece of
audio gear.

The 100Wpc Audia Flight One ($5000) is an
impressively massive and well-built remote-controlled integrated amp from Italy.

Also new from Italy are the Eventus Phobos
(left, $6500/pair) and Metis ($2650/pair), which rests on its matching stand ($800/pair).
A center-channel speaker fills out the company's product line.

Canada's Oracle Audio is now manufacturing
under two brand names. Shown are the Stello CDA 200 CD player (left, $2750) and AI 300
100Wpc integrated ($3250) amp. The two were used with prototype speakers that will appear
under the Delphi brand name.

An integrated active speaker system featuring
outboard mono tube amplifiers, the Aurum Acoustics Integris (approximately $15,000/pair)
was shown in a prototype form that looked rather finished to us. |
