CEDIA 2004
Daily Coverage Highlights

Friday, September 12 -- Part 2

New from Arcam is the MS250 music server ($4500), which has a 250-gigabyte hard drive and a "very good" CD player. According to Arcam, the sound quality from the MS250's hard drive and its CD player is identical.

JL Audio, maker of the very impressive Gotham g113 subwoofer, also makes less expensive subwoofers. The Fathom f112 (left) and f113 sell for $2400 and $3000 respectively.

Acoustical Audio's Flow speakers were certainly eye-catching -- they looked like brightly colored plumbing fixtures. The stand-mounted left and right speakers cost $2500 per pair...,

...while the center-channel speaker costs $1100.

Legacy's Victoria LE (left, $3200 per pair) can be used by itself as surround speakers or with a pair of VS-12.2 bass modules ($1800 each) as full-range front speakers.

An Acura was equipped to show off DualDisc CD/DVD-A media. Many DualDiscs are set for release in the fall of this year.
