CEDIA 2004
Faces & Places Picture Gallery

Series 4

If you needed to hire a spokesmodel this weekend and couldn't, CEDIA is the culprit. Exhibitors would do just about anything to get showgoers, who are predominantly male, to notice their displays. Silicon Optix used a Marilyn Monroe theme, which was easy to figure out.

But we were stumped by the orange-feather hairdos at the DVDO booth until we looked at the company's literature.

Vantage Point used a highly suggestive "Mount U" campaign (and yes, Vantage Point does make audio/video mounting hardware).

Far less suggestive but no less noticeable were the cable technicians at the Analysis Plus booth.

Gallo Acoustics used Sherwood electronics to demo a home-theater system based on its Reference 3 speakers ($2599 per pair). [www.roundsound.com]

Gallo showed a prototype center-channel speaker for use with its Reference 3s. It should be in production later this year. [www.roundsound.com]
