end-of-the-year award for Best Product Debut. In 2002, Wes Phillips at onhifi.com declared the Xenon loudspeaker
the product of the year. Petteri (left) and Anssi Hyvönen hold the company's Impact 500
active subwoofer featuring a 12" downward-firing woofer and 500W digital amp. It will
retail for about 2500 .

VTL's Luke Manley had just flown in from the
US, but despite the long trip he was in good spirits. He arrived in Munich for the world
debut of his S-400 all-tube stereo amplifier ($20,000 USD).

German designer Norbert Lehmann (left), maker
of the well-known Black Cube SE phono stage, a SoundStage!
Hall of Fame award winner, was exhibiting his range of products. His son David was
also on hand to help with the "family business."

TAD's Andrew Jones stands proudly beside his
Model-1 loudspeaker, which was part of the six-speaker shootout featured as a Standout Room. The Model-1 sells for
$45,000 per pair in the US.
