Germany's Audioplan showed the impressively
built two-and-a-half-way Konzert loudspeaker, which retails for 11.000 per pair.
The Konzert's midrange output is user-adjustable in 1dB steps (up to five points). The
company has gone to great lengths to isolate the tweeter and its enclosure from the rest
of the cabinet...

...using an interesting suspension mechanism
that can be seen on the back of the cabinet. It holds the tweeter enclosure away from the
main enclosure, and the tweeter away from its own enclosure.

Digital Logic's pint-sized Microspace
Entertainment Center (7000 ) is a powerhouse. At its heart is a microprocessor and
the Windows XP Professional operating system. It features a digital video recorder, a DVD
player/burner, full home-theater surround-sound processing and functionality, an AM/FM
tuner, a TV tuner, a game console, an Internet console, and even an e-mail inbox. What it
lacks are power amplifiers and speakers, which can be purchased separately.

Center's software interface. The unit is controlled entirely on screen.

Germany's Bonnec caught our eye with a rather
radical-looking amplifier that sports a unique heat-sink design. The Alto stereo amplifier
outputs 100Wpc and claims 55 amps of peak current. The retail price is 7250 .

The production version of the CDSD SACD
transport from Canada's EMM Labs features an aluminum disc tray and retails for 8100
.
