Verity Audio built a demonstration system around its new Parsifal Ovation speakers ($24,500 per pair), and the results were the best sound we heard on the first day of the show. The Parsifal Ovations are slightly larger than the version they replace, and the plate between the top and bottom portions is machined aluminum, not granite as in the previous version. The sound was very spacious, but didn't lack for bass impact, especially with the demo cuts we played.

Electronics were a Nagra PL-L preamp ($11,000) and PMA mono amplifiers ($15,000 per pair), with a dCS digital stack as source. Silversmith Audio Silver and Palladium interconnects and speaker cables and Shunyata Research power products completed this system, which we were convinced would make a wide range of audiophiles very happy.
