Dick McCarthy of Audio Line Source, maker of Richard Gray's Power Company, is shown here with his product, which lists for $700 and is being used in a number of rooms, including Audio Research, BAT, Lamm, Hovland, mbl, Pipedreams and others. Audio Line Source calls the parallel Power Company an "un-conditioner," and it is suitable for audio or home-theater use.


Doug Blackburn models Sony's Glasstron PLM-A35 video eyewear, which can make you too look like a one-eyed bug.


Hy End Audio Imports showed the Sehring Audio System's 602/603 speaker system. The 602 minimonitor ($2400 per pair) sits on top of the 603 subwoofer ($3400 per pair), which is is available powered, but pricing is to be determined for this option.


PS Audio showed its new P600 Power Plant, which is meant for use with components that have greater power demands. It's priced at $2000.


Eminent Technology showed the LFT-14 all-ribbon speaker priced at $3990 per pair.


Immedia displayed GammuT of Denmark's D200 MOSFET amplifier that outputs 200Wpc and costs $5000. The Gammut D100 costs $3750.


Sony displayed the new SA777-ES SACD player. Priced at $3500, this player differs from the top-of-the-line SCD-1 in that it uses a different power transformer, lacks balanced outputs, and is available only in black.


Sony is also aggressively expanding their MiniDisc product lineup with a new in-car MD recorder, MD-to-CD boombox, and low-cost portable players. One item of note was the new MXD-D3 CD-to-MD recording deck, which features 4X dubbing to allow an audio CD to be copied to a MD in under 15 minutes. The MXD-D3 is available now with a suggested price of $399.
