LIVE Standout Room - Dunlavy |

Dunlavy Audio had two rooms running at AmeriSuites,
a venue close to the Alexis Park and St. Tropez. Their home-theater room's big rig
consisted of SC-V speakers up front, SC-IVa speakers in the rear, and Dunlavy's new HRCC
center-channel speaker. Dunlavy offers this speaker system bundled together for $26,250 as
their "Ultimate Home Theater Loudspeaker System." It was was driven by a Lexicon
MC-1 A/V controller, Denon DVD-2500 player combined with Proceed HPA-35 amplifiers.
Dunlavy's own Z6 speaker wires ($480 per eight-foot pair with termination) and ULC
interconnects ($125 per one-meter pair) were used as well. While we were impressed with
the smoothly unified soundfield and center-channel quality on movies, Marc Mickelson and
Jim Causey were shaking their heads from the system's two-channel music chops. Whether
playing Pink Floyd, Diana Krall or even Cake, the system's musicality, soundstaging and
wonderfully clean and clear presentation made it an absolute delight to hear.
