Presiding over a system with his new line of electronics and well-known speakers, Joachim Gerhard of Audio Physic put together a system that cast a panoramic soundstage. Audio Physic Avanti III speakers ($12,000/pair) and Minos subwoofer ($5700) were driven by Audio Physic Strata mono amps ($15,000/pair) and a Herron VTSP preamp. Analog was the primary source via an Immedia turntable. More than any system we heard in Las Vegas, this one placed Ani DiFranco solidly in space, her voice redolent with characteristic breathiness and presence.
