New from Joseph Audio are the RM33si Limited Edition ($9000/pair), which use the tweeter from the company's top-of-the-line Pearl, and the RM7si Limited Edition WM ($1895/pair), which is a wall-mounted surround-sound speaker. [www.josephaudio.com]

Yamaha's MX-D1 digital amplifier ($4000) will appeal to audiophiles. This low-profile stereo amplifier boasts 500Wpc output.

The Edifier Emiac M-10T ($1000/pair) is described as a "tube personal audio system." As the photo to the right shows, each speaker has a built-in tube amplifier.

Angstrom, based in Canada, displayed their Obbligato satellites ($2499/pair), which are designed to work with their subwoofer ($1799) powered by a 500-watt BASH amplifier. Both the Obbligatos and the subwoofers use Vifa drivers.

Famed amplifier designer Nelson Pass returns to loudspeaker design with his new Rushmore. Adding further value to this enormous $40,000 floorstander is built-in 80W Aleph class-A amplification driving the bass section and 20W driving the midbass and ribbon-tweeter sections. Sensitivity is specified to be at least 96dB.

In true Monarchy Audio fashion, the SE-160 mono amplifier ($4000/pair) is a solid-state class-A amplifier that produces 160 watts into 8 ohms.
