Series 2

Halcro used a six-channel emmLabs DAC-6 (top,
$6500) to good effect in a music-only multichannel system. The DAC6 is a consumer version
of a pro-audio unit; look for a two-channel version too. The emmLabs Switchman
multichannel preamp ($3700) looks industrial but includes a connected remote control, also
shown.

Standing waist high and seemingly all
heatsink, the Edge Electronics NL Reference mono amp ($70,000/pair) is a digital
photographer's nightmare. The NL Reference is rated at 800 watts and weighs in at 155
pounds.

Silverline Audio's new Bolero ($8000/pair)
looked stunning in its piano-lacquered tigris finish and sounded very good driven
by Conrad-Johnson electronics.

The Wraith electrostatic loudspeakers shown
are the FPM5.2 (top, $3600 in two finish options) and the FPS6.0 electrostatic (!)
subwoofer ($1500). The lineup includes several sizes and configurations of electrostatic
speakers.

Combak's minuscule Bravo minimonitor uses a
proprietary coaxial driver developed by Gradient and SEAS. It was shown, and played, with
its optional bass module, the two costing $4500 per pair.

Featuring a chunky remote with a luxurious
feel, the Halcro dm10 stereo preamplifier ($15,990 with phono stage) features an optional
phono stage that is "infinitely adjustable" for capacitance and resistance.
