Amidst all of the multichannel and
home-theater rigs on display at CES, this stereo-only system reminded us that two-channel
sound is alive and well -- and able to suspend disbelief with ease. Beautiful Art Audio
Adagio amplifiers ($15,000/pair) drove EgglestonWorks Andra II speakers ($18,990/pair).
The preamp was a Gill Audio Signature, and the source a Marantz SACD player. All cables
were by Dynamic Design. One CES attendee said "Now that's transparency"
about this system. We could only agree.
