Polk Audio unveiled the new RM-series
loudspeakers. With styling set to match the host of new plasma and LCD screens seen at the

No, it's not a handle for carrying heavy
loudspeakers -- it's the newest Power Port Plus technology from Polk Audio. This

Legacy Audio displayed the new three-way
Victoria monitor ($1799 each) featuring a ribbon tweeter. Seen below it is the VS-12.2
subwoofer ($1699), which contains two 12" drivers and a 500W amplifier. The subwoofer
comes standard with a remote control.

Confirming the convergence of computer
technology with high-end audio was Marantz's DH9300 hard-disk music server (top, $3299).
With an impressive 80GB hard drive, the Marantz also contains 24-bit/96kHz Cirrus Logic
DACs.
 
The $6995 Meridian G91 DVD-Audio
player/controller/tuner (top of component stack) features the company's MHR Smart Link for
easy upgrades, as well as onboard scaling of video images. Below it is the new G57 stereo
power amplifier ($3595) rated at 200Wpc.

Designed to be less visually intrusive than a
conventional satellite dish, the CubSat is an ABS plastic enclosure containing all the
components needed for perfect reception. The unit is said the reduce lightning strikes
versus conventional dishes. Prices vary with configuration and size.

Krell displayed a sleek-looking new DVD
player, the Showcase DVD, which lists for $3500 in standard configuration and $4000 with
HDMI.
