Wilson Audio introduced its latest speaker,
the MAXX Series 2. What's new? Grilles, internal structure of the upper cabinet, tweeter,
and midrange/tweeter crossover. The bass crossover has been refined as well. The MAXX
Series 2 costs $44,900 per pair, and owners of the original MAXX can upgrade for the
difference in price, $6000, a procedure that includes a newly machined port in the
speaker's upper cabinet. [www.wilsonaudio.com]

Lamm updated the well-known M1.1 mono amp. The
new M1.2 Reference ($19,590 per pair) features a number of circuit enhancements along with
10% greater power. It is shown above with its top and bottom removed. [www.lammindustries.com]

The precision-machined Pluto Audio Products
10A Special turntable and 2A Special tonearm cost a cool $60,000, a price that includes
the massive base on which the turntable sits. [www.HighEndAudio.com]

Eastern Electric has added products to its
MiniMax lineup. Shown above are the MiniMax amp (left, 8Wpc output, $1350) and MiniMax CD
player (also $1350), both of which use tubes and look very solidly built.

Looking utterly unique is the Solid Acoustics
SIKKIM loudspeaker ("about" $2299 per pair), which uses a dozen drivers to
generate room-filling sound. In addition to making the speakers, the company, located in
Japan, manufactures the SIKKIM's drivers.
