TAD

For the second CES in a row, TAD put together an impressive sonic display. The voicing of the Model 1 speaker ($45,000 per pair) has been completed, and the Model 1s sound better than ever, showing notable transparency and high-frequency purity. This is a speaker that sounds wonderful at even very loud levels -- no compression, glare or hardness. Electronics were from Pass Labs, Bel Canto, Pacific Microsonics, and Furman, with AudioQuest cables also in use.

We were unaware that the Model 1's midrange/tweeter unit is removable. It is shipped separately.

TAD's new minimonitor (which is misleading -- this is a large speaker) will be available soon. It was used for the rear channels during the demo of multichannel music. Projected cost is $14,000 per pair.
