Whereas most demo systems produced sound, this
one produced music -- at least Doug Blackburns idea of music. Brand-new Vandersteen Quatro speakers ($6500 per pair) were
driven with a pair of Audio Research VM220 mono amps. An Aesthetix Janus preamp, a Musical
Fidelity Tri-Vista CD/SACD player, a Clearaudio turntable, and a Richard Grays Power
Company 1200S power conditioner rounded out the electronics, and AudioQuest Kilimanjaro
speaker cables and Cheetah interconnects completed the system. dB waxed semi-poetic about
this system: "Willie was his lovable nasal self. Nat and Natalie were
unforgettable."
