The Localizer by Brown Innovations is not a galactic
transporter, umbrella or lamp shade but a highly directional speaker -- sort of the
opposite of Get Smart's "cone of silence." Stand directly under the
dome and you can hear music playing; step just a foot to the side and there's hardly any
sound -- pretty nifty. Localizers are available from $350 to $800 depending on size.

Benq's Crazy Arm LCD monitor is just a concept right now --
the company is gathering feedback regarding its desirability. The sprouting arms, which
can be twisted and configured in many ways, are features for increased desktop
convenience. From bottom right and up and over to the left are: a card reader, a light, a
microphone, a fan and...

...a mirror! But do we really need to watch
ourselves at the computer? Or perhaps it's a rear-view mirror for you to see people
sneaking up behind you at the office when you're doing things on your computer you
shouldn't be.
