It’s easy to hear why Focus Audio decided to
become the North American distributor of Vitus Audio electronics: life-sized scale, robust
dynamics and a beautifully fleshed out midrange summed up the sound of Focus Audio’s
Master 3 floorstanders ($20,870/pair) matched with Vitus Audio’s monstrous SM-101
mono amplifiers ($49,000/pair). Vitus Audio-designed interconnects and speaker cables were
also used (prices not available). Rounding off this alluring system was a Weiss Media DAC
and Jason transport, and power cords and conditioning by PS Audio. Doug Schneider cranked
Beck on this system and loved what he heard.
